Overview FLX-TLS Material Guidance System for SAP®

StaplerForklifts and other industrial trucks are used in a wide variety of areas: in incoming goods, in the picking zone, in the intermediate storage area, and in production or shipping.

Usually, the tours these vehicles take are not monitored and controlled as a whole. By using a Material Guidance System the efficiency of the forklift fleet can be increased significantly.

HOW THE FLX-TLS MATERIAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR SAP® WORKS

The individual transport resources are optimally supplied with transport orders from the central order pool. The integrated and parameterizable algorithms enable the route-minimizing use of transport vehicles and the efficient use of staff. Mobile forklift terminals, handhelds using barcode scanner and the use of positioning technology make automated control of the transported goods possible.

  • Ordering: Manual or automatic creation of orders using SAP®
  • Optimizing: Optimization of the created transport orders by the optimization kernel
  • Assigning: Optimized assignment of motion tasks to individual transport resources
  • Processing: Transportation of orders, using the JMobile Client

With the use of a Material Guidance System, the complete transport processing can be automated and displayed transparently within the SAP® system. In addition, it also includes the following functions:

  • Real-time navigation of the forklifts for complex factory premises
  • Multiple facility management
  • Settlement of individual transports depending on cost center
  • Optimisation if internal transport routes
  • Integration of different vehicles (e.g. tugger trains, forklifts, ...)
  • Innovative analysis of transports
  • Suitable for multiple scenarios (e.g. Material Guidance System and transport control system)

SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE FLX-TLS MATERIAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR SAP®

The FLX-TLS Material Guidance System not only enables simple and transparent control of the forklift fleet – it also takes all existing resources into account that are required for an optimal flow of materials. The functions include the optimized use of forklifts, tugger trains, employees with mobile terminals as well as internal truck traffic. In contrast to conventional Systems, which primarily optimize processes in sub-areas of a company’s logistics, the FLX-TLS represents a holistic approach for cross-divisional control and route optimization of the flow of materials. Empty runs are reduced to a minimum by the Material Guidance System. Direct integration with SAP ERP allows the software to show its advantages.

  • Direct integration into SAP®
  • Connection of all SAP® modules (warehouse, production, dispatch, organisation trips)
  • Integration of all internal vehicles
  • Different algorithms for path optimization

ADVANTAGES OF THE FLX-TLS TRANSPORT / FORKLIFT CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SAP®

  • Useable for control and optimization of warehouses, dispatching and production
  • Complete integration of intralogistics (integration of all transportations)
  • Control of logistics centres / dispatch centres with connection to AKL / SGL (automatic small parts warehouse, narrow aisle stacker)
  • Consideration of trailers, round trains and supermarket supplies
  • Increasing the efficiency of the transport fleet and cost savings (between 15 - 35 %)
  • Directly integrated SAP ERP (no middleware, no external interfaces necessary)

AREAS OF APPLICATION FOR THE FLX-TLS

  • Control of dispatch centres (incl. connection of narrow-aisle stackers, automatic small parts storage)
  • Controlling the material flow during production (WIP warehouse control) incl. container management and interim storage management
  • Useable in the entire company, including all means of transport
