Integrated processes are becoming increasingly important for modern intralogistics. Another building block for this is the new interface of the Flexus transport control system (FLX-TLS) in connection with Flexus Yard Management for SAP.
Flexus Yard Management for optimising your inbound and outbound process
Planning your resources for loading and unloading trucks at the loading bays is an important process within your company’s intralogistics. Waiting and standing times of the trucks should be reduced. In this context, the Yard Management of Flexus AG is used to notify deliveries to and from your plant in order to enable an optimised allocation of ramps and thus an optimised entry and exit of trucks on your plant premises.
Yard Controlling constantly monitors your processes, authorisations and external interfaces. Statistics, ad-hoc analyses and a detailed 2D evaluation of the existing data are created, enabling continuous monitoring of the inbound and outbound processes.
Until now, however, a simple connection to the Flexus transport control system was still missing in order to plan the resources for loading and unloading as well as the provision of materials as part of this process.
Flexus interface for integrated process of yard management and transport control system
Flexus AG has therefore developed a new interface for this purpose, which, through its implementation, has a positive effect on the efficiency of your transport control system as well as on yard management. With the interface it is now possible to integrate your yard process and its procedures into the Flexus transport control system.
This allows resources for the loading and unloading process to be planned in advance and the functionality of the interface to be individually adapted to the processes of different companies through simple customising. For example, it is possible to determine when a transport order is created in the transport control system and when the transport order is activated. When the transport order is started, Yard Management receives the feedback that the loading process of the truck has been started. When the transport order is confirmed, feedback is finally given that the loading process has been completed. Through customising, it can then be individually determined at which time the ramp is released for the next loading process.
Special requirements for the loading and unloading process can also be easily specified. For example, you can assign several resources in the plant for urgent orders to enable faster processing. The scheduling and blocking of special resources for certain time slots is also possible without any problems.
Thus, for more complex or special loading operations, you can ensure that these resources are in the right place at the right time and are not scheduled by other orders, which would lead to longer waiting times at the ramps. The just-in-time request for resources also prevents unnecessary downtime in the factory and thus increases the efficiency of your resource utilisation.
Intelligently plan your process steps in advance in the transport control system
Another feature is the early provision of materials for removal from storage. By notifying the trucks, it is known which trucks are to be loaded first the next day. Via the loading list, the transport orders for this can already be created the evening before, so that the retrieval can be carried out during quiet phases in the evening. When the trucks arrive the next morning, they can be loaded immediately by your employees and the utilisation of your resources can be optimised and better distributed throughout the day.
Overall, your in-plant material flow is further optimised by the new Flexus interface and an integrated inbound and outbound process is created. The numerous customising options make it possible to adapt the interface to individual customers and thus optimally tailor it to different processes.
