Real-time tracking in logistics
In combination with the FLX-TLS material guidance system for SAP®, the vehicle/forklift location offers a comprehensive control instrument for all internal transports.
The executed material movements are transmitted to the SAP system in real time.
This ensures scan-free warehouse processes and enables additional functions such as collision warning.

The combined use of positioning technologies with sensor technology (height and load sensor) makes it possible to validate the picking up and dropping of transport orders without scanning in SAP®. Thus, the efficiency for transport processing is considerably maximized.
With the use of vehicle navigation within SAP Intralogistics, the driver is shown the shortest route to the starting point on his terminal.
The load carrier to be picked up is marked in color and the pickup or parking is automatically registered via the vehicle location.
Warehouse and logistics managers benefit from enormous time savings, as the employees carry out transport processing intuitively and without time-consuming scanning processes.
Various SAP dashboards are available to the warehouse/logistics manager for evaluation and transport control.
These are displayed as 2D/3D cockpit. This allows the current position and capacity utilisation of the vehicles (forklifts, route trains, driverless transport vehicles) to be permanently tracked.
Thus all intralogistic processes can be controlled proactively.
There are different technologies for locating the vehicles. Locating them by laser, RFID tags or camera-based systems enables permanent vehicle tracking. This not only ensures process safety, but also allows the use of various driver assistance systems (e.g. for driver navigation).
In the case of positioning via ultra-wideband (UWB), vehicle positioning is based on the transit time of a radio signal between an object and several anchors. The vehicle to be located is equipped with a small tag. This tag transmits the position of the vehicle in real time to the corresponding anchors with an accuracy of 10 - 30 cm.
By means of geofencing, an action can be triggered automatically (e.g. acknowledgement of a transport order). In addition, extended safety functions are made possible. For example, when two vehicles approach each other, a collision warning appears on the driver's display, so that accidents are reduced even in confusing warehouse situations. In addition, in dangerous situations, the speed can also be regulated automatically via the FLX-TLS material guidance system.
Our FLX-TLS material guidance system can be usefully supplemented by laser localization. In this way, customers benefit from scan-free storage, removal and relocation processes.
The forklift truck does not orient itself by the laser to artificially generated reference points on your factory premises, but to its real and current environment. This means that changes in its dynamic environment are immediately detected and taken into account when navigating indoors and outdoors.
