FlexGuide4 Release 2.8

Release Highlights Q3 2025

The new features in release 2.8 of FlexGuide4 focus on customer-oriented optimizations. The OPC UA interface and the Vendor Connector make it easier to fully integrate the fleet. The Start Wizard makes initialization more user-friendly and space priority takes capacities into account efficiently. The option to download the transport order overview makes the data available in a compatible manner, as does the improved SAP Cloud Logging. Transport times are reduced by grouping transport orders and the layout transformation ensures that the warehouse topography is up to date.

New

OPC UA Schnittstelle

With the new OPC UA interface, sensors can be connected directly to the FlexGuide4 and configured individually. All signals, including information on type, value, data type and changes, are displayed and maintained in a clear list.

Key benefits

  • Simplified integration of existing sensors via OPC UA standard
  • Incorporation of sensor data into processes
  • Standardization and interoperability through the interface

Vendor Connector

The Vendor Connector enables the integration of mobile robots from various manufacturers that do not support the VDA5050 standard into FlexGuide4. This allows a broader range of vehicles to be connected and helps further increase overall fleet efficiency using FlexGuide4.

Your benefits:

  • Support for mobile robots without a VDA5050 interface
  • Simplified and more transparent assignment of transport orders
  • Unified control of mixed fleets with both VDA5050 and non-VDA5050 robots

Note: FlexGuide4 manages intersections between non-VDA5050 and VDA5050 robots using restricted zones. For larger overlapping areas, the use of exclusively VDA5050-capable robots is recommended.

Dialog „Free Relocation“

The new „Free Relocation“ dialog enables forklift operators to relocate a handling unit from one storage location to another. The dialog can be initiated by scanning the relevant information on the handling unit. This process triggers a stock movement in EWM in the background, ensuring inventory synchronization.

Your benefits:

  • Transparency in handling unexpected events
  • Error prevention through information scanning
  • Reliable synchronization between reality and the system

Start Wizard

The Start Wizard presents various example scenarios, such as those for mobile robots or forklifts, upon initial system login.

Your benefits:

  • Simplified system initialization
  • Selection of required scenarios on an individual basis
  • Reduced configuration effort, providing relief to users

Capacity Priority

The new capacity priority enables more precise prioritization of orders by considering a combination of available capacity at from station and to station, along with order type. A sorting functionality allows assigning priority values, including negative ones, when a specific number of tasks with this combination is existent. The new priority is directly considered in the order review process, enabling more targeted planning.

Your benefits:

  • Accurate representation of available capacity
  • More exact priority calculation
  • Support for complex scenarios in order processing

Improvement

Download of Current Transport Orders

Existing transport orders in the order overview can be exported as an Excel list with the click of a button.

Your benefits:

  • Flexibility in data analysis and processing
  • Improved decision-making
  • Simplified integration of the data with external applications

Grouping of Orders

Orders can be grouped for contiguous transports, allowing for intuitive visualization and enabling the grouped orders to be driven in a single step.

Your benefits:

  • Enhanced daily operational efficiency
  • Improved overview

Quick Action Dialog for Images

The quick action dialog for images allows for the integration of custom images to make the user interface more personalized and clearer. Image sizes can be flexibly defined in three stages within customizing, with buttons adjusting automatically.

Your benefits:

  • Faster orientation through visual design
  • Attractive appearance through integration of corporate design
  • Reduced errors in interaction with the selection menu

Layout Transformation

When creating a new layout, an image file of the warehouse or production facility is typically stored to realistically and intuitively insert stations, pathways, etc. The Layout Transformation feature enables the exchange of the stored image file and seamless transfer of all customizing settings using a transformation assisted by three reference points.

Your benefits:

  • Precise transformation through three reference points
  • Simplified and flexible adaptations

SAP Cloud Logging

The reliability of logging for EWM synchronization, order priorities, and customizing imports/exports has been enhanced.

Your benefits:

  • Improved error diagnosis and resolution
  • Optimized process workflows through reliable monitoring and provision of data basis for process mining

Minimized risk of data loss
