The Material Flow System (MFS) in SAP Extended Warehouse Management controls and optimizes all material movements in warehouses and distribution centers. It connects your warehouse management system directly to automation technology—such as conveyor systems and storage and retrieval machines—and controls material flows in real time.

With SAP EWM MFS, virtually all automated warehouse and material-handling systems can be integrated directly—often without the need for additional middleware. These include conveyor systems, storage and retrieval machines, shuttle systems, high-bay warehouses, mobile devices, and modern order-picking systems such as Pick-by-Light, Pick-by-Voice, or Pick-by-Vision.
