Step 1: Time slot planning
The first yard-relevant step at Follmann Chemie is to book the time slot for the delivery. Follmann Chemie relies on SAP EWM DAS (Dock Appointment Scheduling) for this. All time slots are managed here. This is no problem with FlexYard, because our system is designed to work seamlessly with SAP EWM. This means that the data from the DAS is transferred directly to FlexYard and can be further processed there.
Step 2: Registration at the terminal
Next, the driver arrives at the plant. Here he has the opportunity to register via a self-service terminal. After selecting their language using the button with the national flag, they enter all relevant information such as the vehicle number and load data. This registration at the yard terminal enables efficient and secure access by ensuring clear identification and tracking of vehicles and freight.
Step 3: Safety instruction at the terminal
In the next step, the driver undergoes a detailed safety briefing. This ensures that the driver behaves correctly on the site and has been made aware of all the dangers.
Step 4: Terror control
If it is stored in the transport unit in the leading SAP system that the truck contains goods subject to terror checks, the terror check is automatically inserted into the process flow. In this case, an employee checks the driver directly in the system.
Step 5: Loading & unloading
The truck can now be unloaded and/or loaded accordingly. FlexYard offers seamless integration into SAP EWM here. This allows the process to switch seamlessly between the two systems.
Step 6: ADR control
If the truck has been loaded with goods subject to ADR regulations, the “ADR check” process is automatically inserted. Here, the shipper checks the entire truck and driver using a system-guided checklist.
Step 7: Exit
Finally, the truck can leave the premises again through the barrier. The status of the process is then automatically set to Completed and the process ends.
Step 8: Evaluation
The monitoring and control of all yard processes is carried out using cockpits, control stations, and mobile apps. All data is stored in the SAP system and can be accessed in real time or analyzed afterwards to make optimizations.
