Optimization of common intralogistics porcesses

Flexus AG and NIMMSTA, the industrial wearable manufacturer from Munich, optimize all processes in intralogistics in a joint effort. As an SAP Silver Partner, Flexus has specialized in the optimization of processes in intralogistics with innovative software products and consulting know-how. Flexus provides everything from a single source: from the analysis of your potentials to the conceptualization and implementation of measures aimed at improving your material flow.

Proper hardware plays an important role in this. The NIMMSTA backhand scanner has therefore already been integrated into the Flexus framework for mobile apps and into the internally developed industry browser, the Flexus Mobile Browser. As a result, the information of all SAP applications can be displayed on the touch display of the HS 50.

  • The wearable touch device NIMMSTA HS 50 is ready for use with the mobile Flexus SAP apps out of the box

  • Flexus upgrades its hardware portfolio with the HS 50

  • Intralogistic processes are optimized by Flexus and NIMMSTA by allowing all SAP add-ons to be displayed on the HS 50

  • The innovative NIMMSTA backhand scanner with touch display enables inputs and confirmations to be transferred directly to SAP

  • Helps employees in all areas by supporting operation with both hands

  • Flexible and mobile deployment of employees
Flexus AG SAP Intralogistics Partner for EWM - back of the hand scanner from NIMMSTA

The young company NIMMSTA has developed the world’s smallest and lightest backhand scanner with touch display for all logistics processes. It is designed to integrate freehand scanning processes within companies to make work more safe, ergonomic and efficient.

The HS 50 features the ability to scan and grab in a single motion and displays all information from the WMS or ERP on the back of the hand. Inputs and confirmations can be made by using the touch display. This eliminates the need for an additional device. With the deployment of the smart wearable, it is possible to achieve a performance increase of up to 40 %.

Flexus has already implemented the NIMMSTA Core Library in its system and. This creates potential for bidirectional communication. All functionalities of the touch display are fully and instantly operational.

Stefan Popp, CEO of Flexus:

„With NIMMSTA, we can offer to our customers an improved handling of warehouse and logistics processes. Customers of Flexus benefit from streamlined logistics with SAP ECC or S/4HANA especially with regard to activities related to commissioning, physical inventory and the handling of tugger train processes.“

Flexus offers a complete handling of SAP logistics projects. In the scope of a project, the company delivers the required software components from an extensive portfolio of SAP add-ons, the hardware integration and the necessary SAP consulting. The extension of the hardware portfolio with the NIMMSTA HS 50 enables users to be guided interactively throughout all processes, such as picking or shipping. With the visual, acoustic and haptic feedback feature of the HS 50, the error rate is reduced and stock shortages, for example, can be reported to SAP in real time.

There are a number of different areas that would make a perfect fit for the use of the backhand scanner, for example, in tugger train control. There is no longer any need to use an additional mobile device here during loading and unloading. Employees can work with both hands at all times and they always have the device with them automatically, which speeds up processes tremendously. The advantages are also evident in small parts picking. The HS 50 can, for example, be used with the mobile Fiori apps by Flexus in the SAP warehouse logistics for SAP MM, WM and EWM. With the added voice control, processes are optimized even further.

Florian Ruhland, CEO of NIMMSTA:

„We are very happy about our partnership with Flexus. Our mutual customers benefit from comprehensive consulting and get equipped with compatible SAP modules or the SAP add-ons by Flexus, which enables them to start using the HS 50 right away. We are bringing wearables and freehand scanning processes into companies with an innovative approach, and we are therefore making a major contribution to driving forward the industry in the sense of Industry 4.0.“

About NIMMSTA

Flexus AG SAP Intralogistics Partner for EWM - partnership between NIMMSTA and Flexus

NIMMSTA was founded in Munich in 2019. The two managing directors of AFR Engineering GmbH, which was founded in 2009, Florian Ruhland and Andreas Funkenhauser, came up with the idea for the HS 50, based on their many years of experience in product development of industrial PCs at Datalogic, to make processes more efficient, especially in the logistics sector.
