Light in the black box, not at the end of the tunnel – the FlexGuide transport control system has made it possible to optimize the multi-stage material flow processes that extend across several halls, production and storage areas at SMS group GmbH in Hilchenbach.

The implementation of the FlexGuide transport control system was realized in only three months. Now the demand-oriented requesting of trailers, the associated creation of transport orders as well as the “generation” of containers is possible quickly and easily. Each driving job is automatically transmitted to one of the available vehicles and displayed with start and destination address.

All processes are displayed in tabular form, graphically processed and centrally monitored in the control station. Here, in addition to manual intervention in the transport worklist, all individual parts can be located and traced using the material and WBS numbers. In addition, targeted evaluations of the efficiency of the processes could now be created.
